BaSO4 filler is used widely with excellent performance, and become a new plastic materials as one of the functional modified materials.

First, reduce costs. Generally, fillers are cheaper than resins as chemical materials. Therefore, increasing fillers can greatly reduce the cost of plastics, which has obvious economic benefits. This is also the main reason that plastic fillers are widely used.

Second, to improve the heat resistance of plastic. Plastic with low heat resistance, such as ABS, the long-term use of the temperature as long as about 60 ℃, and most of the filler attributed to inorganic substances with high heat resistance, and thus these fillers into the plastic can significantly improve the plastic Heat resistance. Another example is the PP, the thermal deformation temperature of about 110 ℃ without filled, but filled with 30% talc heat distortion temperature can be improved to 130 ℃ or more.

Third, improve the rigidity of plastic. Usually the plastic is less rigid, such as pure PP twisting modulus of about 1000MPa, far from being satisfied with the application requirements of some components, but if add 30% talc, the flexural modulus of up to 2000MPa above, showing the talc on the significant Just role.

Fourth, to improve the plastic molding processability. Some fillers improve the processability of plastics, such as barium sulfate, glass beads, etc., to improve the fluidity of the resin

Fifth, improve the stability of the scale of plastic products and components. Some plastic crystal shortened large, resulting in shortening the rate of its products,  easyly deformed after out from the mold , the scale instability; but increase the filler, can greatly reduce the shortening rate of plastic, and then improve the dimensional stability of plastic products and components.

Sixth, improve the appearance of plastic hardness. Usually plastic hardness is low, the surface is easy to scratch, affect the appearance, and then affect the appearance and decorative. The hardness of inorganic filler than plastic high hardness, increase the inorganic filler, can greatly improve the appearance of plastic hardness.

Seven, improve the intensity. General plastic itself tensile strength is not high, increase the inorganic filler, filling the appropriate range  can improve the tensile strength and flexural strength of plastic, and then improve the engineering workability of plastics.

Eight, given some of the functions of plastic, improve the added value of plastic. Some fillers can give plastic some functions, such as for PP to increase talc, calcium carbonate, PP can improve the anti-static function and printing capabilities; Hollow glass beads added to the plastic  can improve the plastic insulation; metal particles increase to plastic  can improve the thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, and then to improve its processability.
